Today we are grilling up some chicken wings on the Weber Kettle grill. This is keto friendly, you can still have a great meal while even on a diet. These wings were delicious and paired with the grilled veggies, its a perfect match.
Smoked Chicken Wing and grilled veggies recipe
1-2 hours prior, place your wings in a bowl or Ziploc bag and add ¼ cup of Worcestershire sauce and 1 lime squeezed. Let sit until it is time to season and cook.
Also, place in a container or bag some of your favorite largely chopped veggies to grill. Drizzle some extra virgin olive oil and season with Twist’d Q or Lemon pepper and garlic
Fire up half and half of charcoal and mesquite wood lumps in a charcoal chimney. Mesquite lumps add a great bold smoke flavor on chicken and the smoke really penetrates the skin. Paired with a good marinade and seasoning, the final results are fantastic.
Right before placing the wings in the grill, season you wings with a liberal coating of Twist’d Q’s Crazy Chicken Lemon and Garlic seasoning https://amzn.to/2LUmKm6
Once the charcoal fire has calmed down a bit and the top of the charcoal begin to turn grey, place it on one side of the grill or in charcoal baskets https://amzn.to/2EauCtr Add a chunk of cherry or apple over the charcoal to enhance the flavor.
Allow the grill to come to temp, the temp will be higher between 375 – 425ish. No worries, we will be cooking indirect with the food away from the flame.
Once your grill is heated, place your wings on there and cook for 30 mins with the vent of the top above the wings.
After 30 mins, flip wings and rotate if some are more done than others. Add your veggies in a grill basket on the edge of the coals.
The veggies will be flipped every 5 mins for 15 mins.
After about 20 mins, check the wings and make sure they temp internally with an instant read thermometer https://amzn.to/2VXand9 and ensure the internal temp is at least 175 degrees. I like mine a little crispier, so I went another 8 mins.
Serve and enjoy!
