Salsa Roja de Chile de Arbol
This salsa is pretty common in my household. Depending what I am cooking will depend which salsa I make. This one is great for beef tacos, carne asada burritos and breakfast. No matter what you use this salsa on, it definitely compliments with some delicious flavor.
3-8 Chile de Arbol (to your spice preference)
1 lime or lemon
3 Roma Tomatoes
2 Tomatillos
2-4 Garlic cloves
1 tsp Oregano
1/2 small Onion
1 cup un-chopped cilantro
1/2 to 1 cup beef broth
Salt to taste
Cooking Instructions:
Optional: Toast the chili's until a dark mahogany color over medium heat.
In a pot, add tomatoes, tomatillos and chili's and bring to a boil.
Once the water has boiled, cover with lid and turn heat off.
Let sit for 15 to 2 minutes to steep the chili's and soften the tomatillos and tomatoes.
In a blender, add all of the ingredients and blend well.
Season with salt to taste.
Enjoy!
