Pineapple Honey Glazed/ Spiral Ham/ Holiday Ham Recipe
28 oz can of sliced pineapples
Maraschino cherries
1 cup brown sugar
2 -3 tbsp of cloves
The included packet of Brown Sugar Glaze
1 tbsp of honey
Remove the ham from the package and place on a baking pan with the bone facing down.
Open the can of pineapples and pour the juice over the ham.
Rub the ham with brown sugar until coated well.
Slice the top of the ham to make a checkered formation to allow faster cooking and better presentation. (Optional)
Place cloves in the top of the ham.
Cut toothpicks in half, and use the toothpick to nail the pineapple slices to the top of the ham.
Again using a toothpick, secure a cherry in each pineapple hole.
Cover with foil and bake in a preheated oven for 350 degrees for 12 – 15 mins per pound of the ham.
Prior to the last 30 mins of cook time. You want to make your glaze.
Place the glaze packet in a sauce pan and add 3-4 tsp of water to help moisturize the sugar.
Over low heat, mix the sugar until liquefies. Add 1 tsp at a time to make the right consistency.
Add 1 tbsp of honey and mix thoroughly. Try to have this done right when the ham comes out of the oven.
For the last 30 mins of cook time, take the ham out of the oven. Remove the foil and baste the ham with the juices in the pan. Then remove the juices out of the pan. Then pour the glaze over the ham and brush the glaze to coat the ham evenly.
Place back in the oven for the final 30 mins of cook time. Allow 5-10 mins to rest and serve!
Enjoy!
