Picado de Bistec

Today we are going camping yall. It was a much needed escape. I bought a Weber Smokey Joe and had some fun with it over the weekend. One of the things I did with it was make breakfast, it worked really well heating up a cast iron pan for breakfast. This picado de bistec is a great breakfast and is very simple to make. It takes simple ingredients but is really delicious. All you need are some tortilla of your choice and a good salsa.

1 lb of chopped thin sliced beef

1 roma tomato

1 – 2 garlic cloves

½ medium onion chopped

½ green bell pepper chopped

About 2 tbsps of a spicy pepper minced, I used Anaheim chili for this. But you can use whatever you have or want.

¼ cup of chopped cilantro

1 can of tomato sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

In a skillet, heat up and oil

Add the beef and season with salt and pepper

Brown the beef on one side, then add the garlic to incorporate the garlic flavor to the beef

Once the beef is browned on all sides, add all of the rest of your ingredients into the pan and mix well

Cook until all the veggies have a nice sautee, where they are nice and soft

Once the veggies are cooked, add in the tomato sauce and check for seasoning.

Serve and enjoy!
