Navy Bean Soup

Serve this navy bean soup with some sweet corn bread, it is so delicious together. If you have a left over ham, this soup is perfect with it. This is actually a really simple recipe and you can have this done in no time. Even though it is simple, it is really tasty.

Navy Bean Soup

2 carrots chopped

3 celery stalks chopped 1/2 large onion chopped

3 garlic cloves minced

1 lb ham chopped 1 ham bone 1 lb navy beans 2 tbsp Knorr's chicken bouillon 10 cups water

You want to take your beans and soak them in cold water for 6 hours. You can also do a faster method by adding hot water and let soak for 30 minutes to an hour.

When your beans are ready and have expanded, in a large pot over medium heat add a little bit of cooking oil.

Add your carrots, celery, and onions and sautee until the onions are translucent.

Add in 1lb of your leftover ham including the ham bone along with the garlic. The ham bone is going to add a lot of the flavor.

Add in 10 cups of water and season with Knorr's chicken bouillon. This does not need a lot of seasoning, or really any. The ham is really salty and flavors the soup just fine. The 2 tbsps of chicken bouillon was perfect to my taste.

Bring to temperature, cover slightly and cook for 1 hour or until the beans are cooked.

Serve with some Corn Bread and Enjoy!
