Nachos Cheese Sauce

Nachos are a fun snack and its even more fun when you make the cheese sauce from scratch. If you love some cheesy nachos, this is the recipe for you.

Nacho Cheese Sauce recipe

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons all-purpose flour

1 cup of milk (a little more for after mixing)

¼ cup fresh chopped jalapeno or pickled jalapenos

8 oz cheddar cheese

Salt and pepper to taste

Set a sauce pan to low heat and add butter to begin melting. Once the butter is melted, add the flour gradually at a time and whisk. Be sure to whisk consistently during the whole time we are making the sauce. When you have your flour incorporated into the butter evenly, add 1 cup of milk, and cook the milk until the flour begins to thicken up. Now add the jalapeno’s, and allow the flavor from the jalapenos to cook into the sauce. After a couple of mins, add 8 oz of cheese and begin melting and incorporating into the milk.

Once the cheese has melted and is a thick cheesy consistency, add gradually some milk to loosen up. Add the milk little by little until you get a smooth creamy cheese sauce. Keep warm in a slow cooker or something that will keep the sauce warm.

Serve with your favorite condiments.

Enjoy!
