Delicious Beef Tri Tip
Today we are doing some Tri Tip on the Weber Kettle grill. I love my tri tip to be juicy and flavorful. I give the tri tip a marinade for 2-3 days then cook it up after giving a nice seasoning of my homemade beef seasoning. You can add many different things to enhance the flavor of your tri tip, so have fun doing so. This is such a great recipe and your family will enjoy!
Tri Tip Recipe
Wet marinade:
¼ cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
Place your wet marinade ingredients in a 1 gallon ziplock bag and mix well. Add your tri tip into the marinade and let sit in fridge for 2 – 3 days.
Dry rub:
1 tbsp. Kosher Course salt
1 tbsp. Course Black Pepper
½ tbsp. garlic powder
½ tbsp. onion powder
Mix all dry ingredients together and season with a good coating all over the tri tip.
In the oven
Preheat the oven to 450 degrees, once preheated place the tri tip in the oven and cook for 15 minutes. After the 15 mins, turn the temperature down to 350 degrees and cook for another 20 – 25 minutes or until the correct doneness of the roast to your preference.
Let rest for 15 – 20 minutes and serve.
On the grill
Place the tri tip over indirect heat, having your coals on the other side of the grill. Insert some thermometer probes to monitor the internal temperature. Cook until internal temp is 110 – 115, then place over direct flame to finish the roast off to preferred doneness.
Cook to preferred doneness:
Rare 125 – 130
Medium Rare 130 – 140
Medium 140 – 150
Medium Well 150 – 155
Well Done 155+
Let rest for 15 – 20 mins and slice.
Serve and Enjoy!
