BBQ Pulled Pork with Dr. Pepper - Instant Pot Recipe
Today we are making a simple recipe using the Instant Pot to make pulled pork. The instant pot allows you to get most of your things done and have some food cooking for your family. This is a really easy recipe but very delicious and you will enjoy the flavors it has. I made pulled pork sandwiches with this recipe, but you can do so much with it. Your creativity is all on your own. Happy cooking!
Ingredients
5-8 pound Pork Shoulder or Pork Butt
2 cups of Dr. Pepper
2 tbsps of BBQ rub seasoning
1 tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
1 cup of chicken/beef broth or water
1 – 1 ½ cup of BBQ sauce
In a cup add Dr Pepper, BBQ Rub and Worchestershire sauce. Using an injecting syringe, inject the Dr Pepper mixture into the roast. Once the pork is injected, season the outside with your favorite BBQ rub seasoning or seasoning. Let sit for 3-4 hours in the fridge to marinade.
After marinating period, place the pork roast in the instant pot with 1 cup of chicken or beef broth or water. Seal up the instant pot and close the valve. Set to pressure cook for 2 hours.
After cook time, allow the instant pot to naturally release for 20 – 30 mins. Then open the valve, and let the remaining pressure release from the instant pot.
Carefully remove the roast from the instant pot and shred. Add some juices from the cook back into the pork and add your favorite BBQ sauce. Mix and serve.
Enjoy!
