BBQ Chicken Wings

BBQ Chicken wings are a great appetizer for a party or the big game day. I make a double batch of these wings when I have guests come over. It is really simple to do but they are delicious. BBQ Chicken wings are one of my favorite finger foods. You can make a lot of them and you do not have to be in the kitchen watching them cook. This will allow you to tend to your guests and have a good time.

Ingredients:

24 – 30 Chicken wings

All Purpose Flour for coating

BBQ seasoning of your choice or Homemade

Barbecue Sauce of your choice or homemade

BBQ Rub Recipe

2 Tbsp Salt

1/2 Tbsp Black Pepper

1 Tbsp Garlic Powder

1 Tbsp Onion Powder

1 Tbsp Smoked

1 Tbsp of Chili Powder

1 Tbsp of Brown Sugar

1/4 tsp of Cayenne Pepper

BBQ Sauce recipe

2 tbsp unsalted butter

¼ onion finely minced

3 garlic cloves finely minced

¼ cup brown sugar

¼ cup honey

2 tbsp apple cider vinegar

¼ cup Worcestershire sauce

2 cups ketchup

1 smoked paprika

1 tbsp chili powder

¼ cup Cayenne Pepper hot sauce of your choice

Cooking Instructions

BBQ Sauce

Finely mince onion and garlic in a food processor or blender.

In a sauce pot, add in your butter and allow to melt over medium-low heat.

Add in your minced onion and garlic and allow to cook for 2 minutes.

Add the remainder of the ingredients and simmer the sauce for 10 – 12 minutes.

The sauce will thicken up and become a little darker. That is when your sauce is done. Allow to cool and have ready for your chicken wings.

Chicken Wings

Season your chicken wings with your BBQ seasoning on all sides. You want the chicken wings to have the same color as your BBQ Seasoning. Coat the chicken wings in unseasoned all-purpose flour and place on a baking rack.

In a preheated oven at 375 degrees, place your wings on the middle rack and set a time for 45 minutes.

After 25 minutes, flip the chicken wings to allow cooking on the other side. Spray with a little cooking oil on spot that have flour that looks white and dry.

Cook for the remainder of the time and ensure the internal temperature of the chicken wings are 175 degrees internally.

Sauce the chicken wings with your BBQ sauce and serve.
