Air Fryer Fried Fish
Updated: May 15, 2019
During the spring time, I have the chance at getting a lot of fish in my household. I would usually deep fry my fish, but since having the air fryer I don't need to cook with so much oil any more. You get a healthier recipe using the air fryer and still crispy results as you would fried in oil.
Air Fryer Fried Fish Recipe
Ingredients:
1 - 2 lbs of Cod fillets
1 cup of all purpose flour
1 cup of corn meal
2 tbsp salt
1tbsp Onion powder
1tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp lemon pepper
1tbsp Old Bay seasoning
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
1-2 eggs
Optional Hot sauce for egg wash
In one bowl mix all dry ingredients besides the corn meal, mix all ingredients well. Place the corn meal in a separate bowl. Scramble 1-2 eggs in another separate bowl. You can add a little of your favorite hot sauce into the egg.
Drop the cod fillets in the seasoned flour, give it a good coating. Place in egg wash and then place in the corn meal bowl. Once you have a good coating, place on rack or cutting board.
Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees, and set the cook time 10 -13 mins. Once preheated, place the fillets in the air fryer on a greased grate. Spray a little oil on top of the fillets and begin cooking. Flip the fillets halfway of the cook time and spray the other side. Be gentle with the batter while flipping and removing. Cook until the fish is 145 degrees internally and the batter has a nice crispy exterior.
Serve with some fries, lemon hot sauce or tartar sauce of your liking.
Enjoy!
