Air Fryer Crispy Chicken Legs

Chicken legs in the air fryer are such a treat. I love getting a good batter on there so you can have a crispy chicken leg once it’s done. Some of the benefits of the air fryer, you don’t get all the oil as you would deep fried. The results are still good, you get a juicy and crispy chicken leg. The batter has a good spice to it, but this goes great with some hot sauce.

Air Fryer Crispy Chicken Legs

1 tbsp salt

1 tbsp black pepper

1 tbsp garlic powder

1 tbsp onion powder

1 tbsp Sweet Smokie Joe’s Creole Kick from Sweetsmokiejoe.com or your favorite Cajun seasoning

¼ tsp cayenne pepper

1 cup flour

1-2 egg (depending how many legs you will be cooking)

In a large bowl, you want to mix all of your dry ingredients. Scramble 2 eggs in another bowl.

You want to dip your chicken legs in the seasoned flour and make sure you get a good coating on all side and shake off any excess flour.

Now dip the seasoned chicken in the egg was and give a good coating of the egg.

Then dip it right back into the seasoned flour to finish up the battering of the chicken leg.

Once the chicken is battered, place the legs in the air fryer.

Set your air to 400 degrees for 20 minutes.

In 10 minutes, open the air fryer and spray a little oil, flip the legs and spray that side also. This will give a good color to the batter where it crisps up really good.

Let the chicken legs cook for the remainder of the time and make sure it temps at 175 degrees internally.

Serve and enjoy!

The Evo spray bottle I used in this video is the best spray bottle I have tried. If you like using the air fryer, this is a must have. Here is the link to the Evo spray bottle --> https://amzn.to/2ZM4ayj
